School Council

The School Council is a forum in which parents:
  • support the development of the Catholic ethos of the school
  • support pastoral care strategies
  • assist in promoting the school in the local community
  • advise on and support capital and maintenance programs
  • ensure that the school community receive the Annual School Council Report
The School Council consists of the Parish Priest, the Principal and four to six elected parents. School Council meetings are held monthly and all parents are invited to attend the first School Council meeting held each year, the Annual General Meeting.

Parent Committee Groups

St. Peter's school has a wonderful sense of community attached to it. When a student enrols, their parents and extended family become part of the community as well. The School owes much of its resources to the generous endeavours of the Parents & Friends of St Peter's raising money each year. As part of the School Council the following Committees have been introduced:
  • Social & Fundraising
  • Maintenance
  • Fete
  • Canteen
  • Garden
These committees report directly to the School Council.
Parental involvement in one or more of these groups is much appreciated. We also encourage parental involvement by inviting parents to participate in a range of activities including assemblies, parent helpers in the classroom, day or overnight excursions, sporting activities, school masses, Sacramental programs, information nights and Parent-Teacher interviews.
